Monday 14

Good Morning !!! It’s the Monday after Valentine’s Singles/Couples awareness day(slightly NSFW). Here’s hoping you spent it the way you wanted to.

Here are some things you might have missed here since last Monday.

A late post (sorry !!! ) with evidence that there should be an age cutoff for driving.

I then spoke about 4 childhood memories that just  won’t fade away.

And that was it.

Last week was a slow week, for which I apologize; I’ll do better.

This week at One Fresh, if you say, “Thank you coach” you get a free topping with your order !!! Also, there’s a challenge this weeks that consists of writing an explanation of how a $7.99-all-you-can-eat costs you $12.50. For those of you who get the explanation right,  The Store owner will have something special for you. Put your thinking caps on, and come up with something clever !!!

So, here’s how my Valentine’s Day went.

Like I mentioned earlier, I was not planning anything this year; It was all in the hands of Ms. Blogmaster. I must say, she did a great job. She took us to the Knott House (which is a really old house in town) for an evening of Romantic Readings. In theory, this sounded like a wonderful idea. Then the poet spoke.

It was then that I was reminded that not ALL poets should turn around and perform their own work. It’s like they have an idea in their head how it should sound, but it gets lost in translation by the time it reaches the ear of their audience.

She was also trying to sell her books at the event, out of the back of her trunk no less. OK, they took a few copies and placed them in the reception area, but the fact she wanted to sell them straight out the trunk made me laugh.

As we toured the house, it was very interesting to see all this old stuff historical relics still in place as if they were just purchased. There were people in white gloves all over the house making sure no one touched anything. All in all, it was a great tour, and a nice trip through time learning about Tallahassee. (Shouts out to Florida A&M and the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority inc. for having their pictures in this piece of history)

After we had some refreshments, and politely declined buying the book; Ms. Blogmaster then took us to the next destination: Harry’s Seafood Bar & Grille.

Well, we WOULD have eaten there… except there was a hostess their who wasn’t too nice to us when she told us that there was a 3 1/2 hour wait to be seated. Now, I understand that it IS Valentine’s day, and it IS busy, but her attitude didn’t help. She was very smug about it. I plan on writing an angry letter(VERY NSFW) to management today. I’ll keep you updated on that.

So, we ended up heading over to Macaroni Grill; the wait there was 2.5 hours and the hostess was much nicer and understanding about the situation; we decided to wait, and we headed to the mall to wait. 45 minutes later, our pager goes off , and we rush back to the restaurant. I didn’t know what the range on those pagers were, but I have a better idea of them now. According to How stuff works, the range can be a few hundred feet to a couple of miles. We were seated, fed, and billed settled in about an hour. I wasn’t complaining because the food was great.

So, we headed home and she gave me a really heart-felt Valentine’s Day card. and chocolate.

You’re probably wondering what I got her… Well, we ended up buying her 2 pairs of shoes in the mall, and I have a pre-order for her “new” favorite movie/Book series coming to Blu-Ray.

So, how was YOUR V-Day? was it exciting? did it suck? did u get engaged? did you go out with friends? let’s discuss it here.
