August 4, 2009

First off, I want to tell all of my fans that I am sorry for not having a Blog yesterday.

As many of you know I moved over the weekend (which was an adventure in itself) to a bigger place. We’ve gotten everything unpacked except for a few boxes with random computer parts. I think Computer parts are going to be the “junk” in my garage when I become a Dad. Growing up, and even today there are car parts and random tools in my dad’s garage; but for me, I’ll have a bunch of computer parts… sign of the times? Maybe. My dad and his friends talk carborators and fuel injectors; My friends talk PS3’s and NCAA Football. Is there a point where we start talking cars and thermostats ?

Well, at some point right after the move, we (I) lost the car keys :(. So, Monday we spent the day getting that handled. We also had to deal with Comcast; apparently yesterday was “Migrate to Comcast” day, because it seemed like a good portion of town was at the office. Even after we got the new equipment from them, the actual service didn’t kick in until later that night; I was without real Internet (thank God for the iPhone)  for almost 4 days. Do you know how much can happen on the Internet in four days ???

As you may have read, all I’ve done on the blog was my Previous Monday’s entry. I’ve had plenty on my plate this summer with the Job and Platform Nation. I’m starting to get the hang of how things work over there. Make sure you’re reading my articles and making me popular 🙂

If you say “1 Fresh” at 1 Fresh Stir-Fry, you’ll get a free drink with your order.

True Blood. Yeah, just watch it; there isn’t much else I need to say about it.

There is something that’s disturbing me. It deals with the little black girls of America, and their parents.

You think THIS is bad???

There was a video that I saw on MediaTakeout.com (it has been removed at the time of this blog; it’s like the article never existed…) let’s just say the things I saw the little girls were doing I’ve only saw done at Reggae Parties…The following video probably isn’t safe for work…

But this video is a pretty accurate representation of what those girls (no more than 11) were doing.

What is going on with our community ???

There were at LEAST two adults at this party (1 of them taping the spectacle) and NO one decided to stop this. Why? WHY is this acceptable ? why is it no one snatched these kids up ??? I understand that they are watching adults do this and mimic what they see, but really ??? what ever happened to keeping kids innocent ? I’m not going to start telling people HOW to raise their children, I’m just saying.

July 20, 2009

Well, it’s summer time…

I started a “Tales from the Cuckoo’s nest”  series on my blog last week. Anytime something “unique” happens at work, there should be a blog following. Here’s part 1, and part 2. I almost feel like i’ve come full circle with this blog.

Moving day is getting closer… I need to increase my packing efforts, I promised my friends that everything would be packed and ready to go the day of. I’m still churning out articles over at Platform Nation, and I really do enjoy it and hopefully I can continue my efforts with them.

The weekend went pretty quickly. I saw True Blood on Sunday… I’m not gonna ruin it for anyone that missed it but… No, Mary-Anne you DIDN’T tell me that.

The series is starting to really pick up the pace; there are so many things to keep track of. What’s YOUR favorite “new discovery” for the season ??

July 6, 2009

Hopefully nothing like this happened to any of my readers…

I’m starting to feel a little bit better, my sinuses aren’t killing me as much as they were over the weekend. It’s the first Monday in July, which means I SHOULD be doing a monthly update of everything I wrote about in June; Alas, it was mainly Monday updates and and the new facebook vanity url thing. Naturally, I’ve apologized to everyone and I’m trying to do better. I really am.

Last night, instead of showing a new episode of True Blood, they did a recap mini-marathon. Last night was your night to get caught up all in one shot. If you missed it, I’m sorry; but if you’re a “real fan” you would have already known and recorded this on Tivo AND VHS (I didn’t do that, I just watched it on tv like a “normal fan”)

I’m telling you, this series never ceases to amaze me. They give you just enough slow time to catch your breath for the next wave of crazy stuff they insist on sending your way.

Is it me, or does the “golden boy” resemble Tim Tebow… No?

I’ve been working on articles over at Platform Nation. I’ve written 10 articles for them now. Go read them:

  • My first one dealt with Kingdom Hearts 358/2 getting a “release date” from Gamestop.
  • Then I spoke about Monster Hunters coming for the PSP (btw, I’m taking donations for the PSP Go)
  • This is the article I used to get the opportunity to write with these guys. This one dealt with the E3 Video game conference.
  • This is my first Video game Review; it was for the Sony Exclusive “inFAMOUS” I had to beat the game in a week.
  • This article spoke about the Playstation Videogame magazine known as “Qore”
  • Then I Did a review for “Trash Panic” which was essentially Tetris in a Trash Can.
  • Free Realms is getting Guild Support, which was news for me; even though I’m still waiting on PS3 Support
  • Then there was my review for Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires. For some reason, I just kept putting this game on hold.
  • There’s a soundboard for the iPhone coming out that’s pure evil.
  • Finally, I noticed something that BestBuy is cooking up over there in way of a PS3 Bundle.

And that’s all about all I’ve written so far for those Guys. Tell your video game friends to go read them and leave comments… I’ll only get into the “big leagues” if they notice that people like my work. If you don’t like my work, tell me what I can change.

Moving Day is about 4 weeks away, I am quite excited. I’m on box hunting duties until then.

And Finally…

A little kitty told me that there is something on the horiZon this Saturday. If you are in the area, there’s going to be a health fair first from 5-6pm, and then the  Spring 2009 ladies of the Ravishing Rho Kappa chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority inc. will be having their probate at 6pm on the Union Green; that area that’s BEHIND the Union. I’m gonna try to be out there to record and blog about it…

Monday 31 *updated*

June 15, 2009

Shout out to my friend Cedric Nabe for running the 100m in 10.28 seconds. Yeah, he pretty much embarrassed the rest of his heat… Here’s hoping he keeps doing big things on the Track. Maybe he can be the next Seminole to run in the Olympics.

I really need to start posting more often. I blame it on summer (the season, not the friend)

Here’s what I spoke about since last you know what? The only thing I spoke about was the new “facebook vanity url” thing they have which is going to make it easier for stalkers to find you.

The new season of True Blood started last night. I thought about giving it it’s own post, but I would much rather put it here. The new season picked up right where the last one left off, answered a couple questions from the ending of Season 1, all while opening new questions. I have a feeeling this is going to be a great season. Stay tuned. I thought about giving a synopsis of last night, but I know there are people who didn’t get to see it last night; so no spoilers from me.

I wrote another review for Platform Nation. This time it was for their new puzzle game known as “Trash Panic“, check it out and as always leave a comment if you can. don’t be afraid to ask questions, that’s the only way I can get better.

There are no wedding updates this week. Everything is still moving according to plan though. This list isn’t getting any easier… I plan to have my list “ready” before July.

I decided to try something new for the summer; I’m going to start a series of blogs called “Places I should be”  What I need from you the reader is to send me a couple pictures and 50 words on why I should be where you are (provided you aren’t where I am) and what’s so great about that place. If you happen to be in the same place I am, feel free to use your hometown (unless it’s where we are now, then use somewhere you’ve been that you really enjoyed)  As always, send it to my email: dtownsend23blog@gmail.com so I can start working on it. I’ve got one so far, and I must say, I like it.
