August 31, 2009

Hey Everybody.

I’m not all the way back to blogging on a regular schedule yet, but I’m getting there.

not too much to report right now other than one of my favorite Game Franchises God of War will be releasing a collection that will have a remastered in HD, Trophy-enabled version of the first two games of this series. The game will sell for $40 this Holiday season, and I’m really thinking of buying it, even though I have WORKING copies of them for the PS2.

Yes, they work with my PS3, because I was smart impatient enough to get one of the Backward-Compatible models when they first released. Oh, I did a Mini-article over at Platform Nation to spread the news to the gaming world. I’m still having fun writing for those guys, I just need to start looking for articles/game review opportunities so I can continue to get my name out there.

The True Blood Season Finale will be on September 13, 2009 @ 9pm. They are going to give everyone a chance to get caught up with the last 3 episodes September 6,2009. From the previews, this season finale is going to be epic !!!

I noticed that MellownMighty has made a small return to the blogging world, go check out her site.

This week get a free side salad from OneFresh Stir-Fry when you say “Listen or Loose”. There’s a story behind it…

College Football Season, is around the corner. This will be the first time in 3-4 years where I won’t be getting up @ 7am to work for the G&G crew (love the new web site guys !!!)  I miss them already; I might have to make a special appearance during a game day just to cheer them on.

I want to take this time to ask all of you out there to send a special prayer out to the family of my Fairy DogMother. She’s going through some things with her family, and can use all the prayers she can get.

That’s about it for now guys… Until next time !!!

Rise of the Gentlemigga

July 6, 2009

*Disclaimer: there is some REALLY rough language in this post. I assure you it’s all within context. I also tried to keep the gratuitous foul language to a minimum. *

What is a Gentlemigga you might be asking…

Well, I spent the better part of today reading about it and putting my own opinions in on the matter. To sum it up; here’s a young woman’s opinion on the topic:

A “gentlemigga” is a MAN who has all the characteristics of a gentleman. he treats you like a lady, has a good head on his shoulders, he’s about business. he’s civilized, educated, sensitive, and well-mannered. BUT when the need arises, his “n***a” side comes out. he’s ready to fight for his girl. he’s intense. he’s almost primal…  he knows how love you gently AND do ya like Tyrese sang.. “straight f***in”. a “gentlemigga” can adapt to what is needed by his lady. a “gentlemigga”…is all of the above.

To sum it up, it’s a Gentleman and a “hood n***a”. Not the ones that have moments like these:

and NOT the ones that wear Skinny Jeans either…

but yes, these are stand up men (color is only an option in this case) who know how to take care of their woman with the book of chivalry (It’s not on Amazon; So, if you didn’t get a copy, it’s probably for the best.) and can at the flip of the switch transform into N***A mode to stand up for what’s right and to protect his loved ones.

this post is by no means created to promote ignorance; but rather to educate the masses. Women deserve GMs, not the boys who are too busy playing games, and messing with the emotions of our queens (Nubian and otherwise)

To sum it all up the Creator of this Movement had this to say:

“There are only a few of us and we are what women want and need all in one.”

Which leads to what woman “want” and “need” but THIS isn’t the blog for that discussion.

Women, you should NEVER settle for this…

Instead, you should be treated like, and look forward to…

What do you think? do GMs exist? do you have one? do you want one?

Well, this one is already off the market (look for the key here)… but there are others out there…

The Female counterpart is coming soon (pending correct terminology)

Monday 31 *updated*

June 15, 2009

Shout out to my friend Cedric Nabe for running the 100m in 10.28 seconds. Yeah, he pretty much embarrassed the rest of his heat… Here’s hoping he keeps doing big things on the Track. Maybe he can be the next Seminole to run in the Olympics.

I really need to start posting more often. I blame it on summer (the season, not the friend)

Here’s what I spoke about since last you know what? The only thing I spoke about was the new “facebook vanity url” thing they have which is going to make it easier for stalkers to find you.

The new season of True Blood started last night. I thought about giving it it’s own post, but I would much rather put it here. The new season picked up right where the last one left off, answered a couple questions from the ending of Season 1, all while opening new questions. I have a feeeling this is going to be a great season. Stay tuned. I thought about giving a synopsis of last night, but I know there are people who didn’t get to see it last night; so no spoilers from me.

I wrote another review for Platform Nation. This time it was for their new puzzle game known as “Trash Panic“, check it out and as always leave a comment if you can. don’t be afraid to ask questions, that’s the only way I can get better.

There are no wedding updates this week. Everything is still moving according to plan though. This list isn’t getting any easier… I plan to have my list “ready” before July.

I decided to try something new for the summer; I’m going to start a series of blogs called “Places I should be”  What I need from you the reader is to send me a couple pictures and 50 words on why I should be where you are (provided you aren’t where I am) and what’s so great about that place. If you happen to be in the same place I am, feel free to use your hometown (unless it’s where we are now, then use somewhere you’ve been that you really enjoyed)  As always, send it to my email: dtownsend23blog@gmail.com so I can start working on it. I’ve got one so far, and I must say, I like it.

Facebook Stalking upgrade

June 9, 2009

I’m not sure how many of my Facebook friends/fans know, but Facebook is making it easier to find people from the Internet. It’s like they are slowly becoming the next Myspace !!!

Whatever happened to the GOOD old days where facebook was around just for college students. Then Teachers started getting in on facebook, then strangers, and now Oprah is even on Facebook.

WTF????? (where’s the fence if you’re wondering…)

To add insult to injury, facebook is now giving users the “option” of having a username instead of the random numbers that usually follows “www.facebook.com/” check out the story and judge for yourself.

I understand that they want to make it “easier” for friends and loved ones to find you, but here’s the thing: all of my friends and family that is ON facebook and wants to find me, already did. If they haven’t found me by now, it’s probably for the better. Besides, how much more information can we make readily available for future employers ???

I’m not here bashing on forward progress: I have a degree in Information Technology, I BREATHE innovation, I’m always looking for what’s new in the world of technology. However, I draw the line at making it easier for “anyone” to find me online that I don’t want to find me.

What do you think? does Facebook have the right idea? or are they making it easier for stalkers to find new people to stalk? comment on it, and let’s talk about this.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to take a quiz to find out “which 80s/90s cartoon character” I am
